Tahid 'Ty' Rucker has two decades of law enforcement experience. He began his career at the Richmond County Sheriff's Office jail, later becoming a road deputy. In 2010, he was promoted to detective in the Vice Narcotics Unit. In 2021, Rucker became the assistant jail administrator. He left the Richmond County Sheriff's Office in 2024 to work as a school resource officer in Scotland County before transitioning to his current role as Jail Administrator.
