Tamika Lyles is an Air Force veteran, educator, and nonprofit founder. She enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving seven years as a medical technician. She holds an undergraduate degree and a Master's of Science in Law. Lyles founded Standing Heroes for Average Workers, a nonprofit advocating for working families facing housing and healthcare barriers. She teaches civic engagement at Lynn University and has served as president of the Osceola County Democratic Black Caucus.
