Tara Hiatt is a candidate for the North Dakota House of Representatives, District 3, running in the Democratic primary on June 9, 2026. She currently serves as an administrative assistant at Minot State University, supporting the Business, Math, Data, and Technology departments. Before joining the university in 2023, her career spanned the oilfield, federal government, and private healthcare, where she gained experience in FEMA disaster relief, phlebotomy/lab management, and vaccine education. A longtime Minot-area resident, she is a graduate of Glenburn High School and an alumna of Minot State University. She is currently on maternity leave until January 2026. In her free time, she enjoys bow and rifle hunting, crafting, and playing video games. She is married and has two daughters.
