Tarik Samman is a Lowell, Massachusetts-born union organizer and researcher, and the son of Syrian immigrants who fled Damascus during the Syrian Civil War. He graduated from the University of California, Irvine (2020), earned a master's degree from Columbia University, and works as a Research Associate at Harvard Law School, where he became an organizer with the Harvard Academic Workers Union. He is running for Congress to stop U.S. tax dollars from funding endless wars and to bring that money home to invest in healthcare, housing, childcare, education, and working families.
