Teresa Garcia was born in El Paso, Texas, and has been a resident of Albuquerque's Southwest Mesa for over 14 years. She is the daughter of an immigrant and a Vietnam Air Force veteran. Garcia earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of New Mexico in 2015. Her career experience includes work in communications, advocacy, and pharmaceuticals. She currently serves as the Chair of the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Commission for the City of Albuquerque.
