Teresa Saavedra Woorman

Teresa Saavedra Woorman is an American politician serving as a Democratic member of the Maryland House of Delegates for District 16, a position she has held since August 12, 2024. Born in Puebla, Mexico, Woorman immigrated with her family to Montgomery County, Maryland, when she was nine years old. She pursued higher education locally, earning an associate's degree from Montgomery College before obtaining a bachelor's degree in government and politics from the University of Maryland, College Park. While attending university, she became a naturalized U.S. citizen. Her career in public service includes seven years as a staffer in the Maryland General Assembly and a role as a public information officer for the Montgomery County government. She also served as the campaign manager for Marc Elrich's successful 2022 reelection campaign for County Executive.
