Terry Tippett

Terry Tippett is a lifelong resident of Johnston County and a retired teacher, coach, and athletic director. He graduated from Smithfield-Selma High School in 1981, the University of North Carolina, Wilmington in 1985, and earned a graduate degree from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 1994. Tippett worked for Johnston County Public Schools starting in March 2000 as a Special Education Teacher and also served as an Athletic Director and Coach. He taught at several schools, including Corinth Holders High School, Neuse Charter School, and North Johnston Middle School, before retiring on December 1, 2019. He was elected to the Johnston County Schools Board of Education in the general election on November 8, 2022.
