Thai Vang is a District Court Judge in North Carolina. In January 2019, he was sworn into office for a newly created district that includes Stanly and Montgomery counties. Prior to his election, Vang served as the chief assistant district attorney in Stanly County for over 10 years, accumulating more than 13 years of courtroom experience. His family came to the United States as political refugees from Laos in 1983. He earned his undergraduate degree from George Washington University and his law degree from North Carolina Central University. In addition to his legal career, he also runs his family's chicken farm near Troy.
