Ted Semesnyei is a first-generation American of Hungarian descent, an economist, and a resident of Amesbury, Massachusetts since 2004. He is 51, married to Jillian, and the father and stepfather of four children. He holds degrees in economics, political science, public management, and economic development, and worked 15 years as a global consultant and economist. He served eight years on the Amesbury Planning Board and more than a decade at the Merrimack Valley Planning Commission. A former lifelong independent who ran for Amesbury mayor in 2011, 2019, and 2023, he recently joined the Republican Party and describes himself as an Independent Republican; he was also a Massachusetts coordinator for Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s 2024 presidential campaign.
