Thomas Stalcup is a Ph.D. physicist, entrepreneur, and company president who founded an electronics company that designs and manufactures environmental-monitoring systems used from the Arctic to Antarctica, and earlier conducted research at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory. He graduated from Falmouth High School and earned a Ph.D. from Florida State University in 2000. A Brookline resident and former Bernie Sanders supporter who long identified as an independent, he is running as a Republican on a 'Science Over Politics' platform centered on lowering prescription-drug costs and reducing U.S. military intervention abroad.
