Tom Merrill has lived in Snohomish since 2015 and was first elected to the city council in 2017, now serving his second term. He has served as the president of the Snohomish City Council and as council liaison to the Public Safety and Economic Development Committees. In 2024, he was selected to serve as chair of the Community Transit Board of Directors. He grew up in Colorado where his family owned a small business.
