Tony Durden Jr. is the current Sheriff of Caswell County. He was first appointed to the position in 2017 by the Board of Commissioners to fill an unexpired term and was subsequently elected by the citizens. He is a veteran of the Caswell Sheriff's office, having joined in 1997 and rising through the ranks to Major before becoming Sheriff. Durden holds an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice from Piedmont Community College and received his Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate in April 2014.
