Tracey A. Johnson has served as a Washington County commissioner since 2006 and is the current Chair of the Board of Commissioners. She is also the Immediate Past President of the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners (NCACC). In 2025, she was inducted into the NCACC Hall of Fame, recognized as a "dynamic leader on the state and national stage" for her advocacy for rural communities. Her work extends to various boards, including the Lottery Commission Advisory Board, the New Schools Advisory Board, and the NC East Alliance. Professionally, she works as an assistant in the business office at Beaufort County Community College.
