Treg A. Bernt

Treg A. Bernt is a fourth-generation Idahoan, born and raised in Pocatello. He earned a B.A. in Speech Communication from Idaho State University. Before his political career, Bernt worked as a territory manager and founded a flooring business. His public service includes a tenure on the Meridian Parks & Recreation Commission and multiple terms on the Meridian City Council. An incumbent Republican, Bernt assumed office as the Idaho State Senator for District 21 on December 1, 2022. He is known as a proven conservative, committed to defending conservative values in Idaho, and has taken legislative actions reflecting this stance, such as votes related to restricting access to certain books. He is seeking re-election to continue representing his constituents and serving as a strong conservative voice for Meridian and the state.
