A St. Louis native, he earned a bachelor's degree from Macalester College in 1979 and worked in medical publishing for over two decades before retiring in Villisca. Narup is campaigning on the slogan “More Common Sense, and More Common Courtesy,” motivated by a belief that state conditions need improvement and he can offer a better choice to voters.
