Vanessa Aronson is a former New York City public school teacher, a U.S. Foreign Service Officer, and the Senior Director of Strategy at the ASPCA. She has also served as an advisor to the president of Hunter College. As a diplomat, she represented the U.S. at the United Nations, where she helped negotiate multi-million dollar agreements for food assistance. Aronson was the president of the Lexington Democratic Club, where she reportedly grew membership by 400%. She holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Chicago, a Master in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from the Relay Graduate School of Education. She lives on the Upper East Side with her husband and two children.
