Venise L. Karris is a candidate for State Assembly District 10 Primary Election in 2026 in Nevada State House District 10, Nevada.

Incumbent Nevada State Assemblymember, District 10 in Las Vegas, NV

Also running: Val Thomason.

Venise L. Karris is an incumbent Nevada State Assemblywoman for District 10, having assumed office in November 2024. A self-described "tough Grandma," she moved to Las Vegas in 1995 as a single mother, raising her family in Assembly District 10. Karris worked as a Journeyman Wireman with IBEW Local 357, co-founding its Women's Committee to advocate for women in the trades. Now a retiree, she continues her fight in Carson City, guiding her legislative decisions by her role as a grandmother. Her platform focuses on protecting reproductive healthcare, addressing affordability, supporting education (teacher pay, smaller class sizes), lowering prescription drug and housing costs, and advocating for free school lunches and summer programs. She is seeking re-election in the 2026 Democratic primary.
