Wengay M. Newton Sr. is a Democratic candidate for the Florida House of Representatives, District 62. He previously served two terms in the Florida House representing District 70 from 2016 to 2020, and was a member of the St. Petersburg City Council from 2008 to 2016. Newton earned an associate degree from ITT Technical Institute and worked as a Senior Printing System Engineer for Xerox for 18 years. He has also owned a professional photography studio in St. Petersburg since 2000.
