William Lawrence is a community organizer and activist from East Lansing, Michigan. A co-founder of the Sunrise Movement climate action organization, he also established the Mid-Michigan Tenant Resource Center and has been involved in housing advocacy through the Michigan Rent Is Too Damn High coalition. A graduate of Swarthmore College, Lawrence is running as a Democratic candidate to represent Michigan's 7th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
