Willie E. Burton is a candidate for the Michigan House of Representatives in District 9. A lifelong Detroiter, Burton previously served as a member of the Detroit Board of Police Commissioners representing District 5, holding the office from 2014 until early 2026. At the time of his initial election, he was the youngest police commissioner in the United States. He has also served as Director of Community Relations for a Wayne County Commissioner and advocates for affordable housing.
