Xavier Becerra is an American attorney and politician running for Governor of California in 2026. He previously served as the 25th United States Secretary of Health and Human Services from 2021 to 2025 under President Joe Biden. A member of the Democratic Party, Becerra also served as the Attorney General of California from 2017 to 2021 and as a U.S. Representative from California from 1993 to 2017. He earned his bachelor's and law degrees from Stanford University.
