Xavier Cason is a former member of the Durham Public Schools Board of Education, having left office in July 2020. He has a long history in education, working as a teacher and later as the Director of Community Schools and School Transformation with the Durham Public Schools Foundation. He co-chaired the Durham Community Safety and Wellness Task Force. Cason is also a Ph.D. student at North Carolina State University studying education evaluation and policy analysis. Currently, he serves as the Senior Program Manager for WHOLE Schools at the DPS Foundation.
