Zach Schierl has been an educator for nearly two decades. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Whitman College and a Master of Science degree from Western Washington University. His career includes working as a teaching assistant, an Education Specialist and Park Ranger for the National Park Service, and he currently teaches physical sciences at Yakima Valley College. He also serves as the membership coordinator for the American Federation of Teachers-Yakima. Originally from Arizona, he has lived in Washington for over a decade and in Yakima for the last six years, moving to East Valley in 2019 with his wife. He is a co-founder of the Yakima Valley Astronomy Club and volunteers with Yakima County Search and Rescue.
