Addison McDowell is the U.S. Representative for North Carolina's 6th Congressional District, first elected in 2024. A native of Lexington, North Carolina, he earned a B.A. in political science and government from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he met his wife Rachel through YoungLife ministry. Before Congress he served on the staffs of Congressman Ted Budd (now U.S. Senator) and Congressman Richard Hudson. He serves on the Transportation and Infrastructure, Natural Resources, and Budget Committees; motivated by his younger brother Luke's fatal fentanyl overdose, his top priority is tackling the drug crisis and strengthening border security.
