Cyril Jefferson is the current Mayor of High Point, North Carolina, and was the first Black man and youngest person to be elected to the position in 2023. His political career began with his election to the High Point City Council in 2019. Prior to his career in public office, Jefferson worked as a former educator, a youth development consultant, and is the founder of the social innovation firm, Change Often. He attended North Carolina A&T State University, where he earned a B.A. in liberal studies, and also studied at High Point University. He and his wife, Raven, have two sons.
