Al Larsen is a Republican candidate for State Senator in Maryland's Legislative District 27. A resident of Calvert County, Larsen is an engineer and holds a Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering. His public service includes eight years as a Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Navy. In 2022, Larsen won the Republican primary for the District 27 senate seat but was defeated in the general election by incumbent Michael A. Jackson. He is again seeking the Republican nomination for the same office.
