Kevin M. Harris

Kevin M. Harris is the Democratic State Senator for Maryland's Legislative District 27, which covers parts of Calvert, Charles, and Prince George's counties. He was appointed to the Senate after his election to the Maryland House of Delegates for District 27A in November 2022. Born in Newark, New Jersey, Harris is a veteran of the United States Navy, serving from 1999 to 2009. His professional experience includes work as a program manager. He earned a bachelor's degree from Washington Bible College and a master's degree in leadership development from Walden University. In the legislature, his service includes the Senate Education, Energy and the Environment Committee and the House Appropriations Committee. Harris is a member of the NAACP and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
