Al Williams, a Democratic Representative for Georgia's District 168, has served in the State House since being sworn in on January 13, 2003. A businessman and former U.S. Military veteran who served in Vietnam, Williams was born in Midway, Georgia, where he maintains a district presence. He is married to Olivia and his birthday is August 2, 1947. In the legislature, he is a member of several key committees including Appropriations, Defense & Veterans Affairs, Economic Development & Tourism, Game, Fish & Parks, Regulated Industries, Rules, and Rural Development. Regarding upcoming 2026 legislation, he supported measures to prohibit foreign nationals from campaign contributions and revise safe places for newborns. He voted against reducing income tax rates and creating a felony offense for obstructing law enforcement with a motor vehicle.
