Dr. Ala Stanford is a pediatric surgeon and health care executive. In 2020, she founded the Black Doctors COVID-19 Consortium to provide testing and vaccination services in Philadelphia. In 2022, she was appointed by President Biden as the Mid-Atlantic regional director for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. She is a Democratic candidate for Pennsylvania's 3rd Congressional District in 2026.
