Alan B. Honeycutt was appointed as a Judge to the Superior Court of Los Angeles County in 2006 by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and his J.D. from the California Western School of Law. Prior to his appointment, he worked in the Redondo Beach City Attorney's Office, serving as a deputy city attorney, assistant city prosecutor, and city prosecutor. He also served as a reserve lieutenant for the Hermosa Beach Police Department. In 2024, he was sworn in as a Major in the U.S. Army Reserve, assigned to the Civil Affairs Airborne Command for the Indo-Pacific region. He is the longest-serving supervising Judge of the Southwest District, having held the role for nearly 14 years.
