Lynn Barbee moved to Carolina Beach in 1971. He graduated from John T. Hoggard High School before earning a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and a Master's in Computer Science from the University of Virginia. Barbee has had a career in Software Development and Information Technology, holding senior leadership roles with several companies. He is currently the Chief Information Officer for Atlantic Corporation in Wilmington. He was first elected to the Town Council in 2019 and subsequently elected as Mayor in 2021 and 2023.
