Allen Vinson

Walter "Allen" Vinson is a lifelong resident of Peletier and a self-employed farmer. After graduating from NC State, he served as a Farm Labor representative with NCESC. He was also a full-time Deputy Sheriff in Carteret County in the 1970s and 1980s. In the early 1990s, he started a construction company and became a General Contractor and Home Builder. In 1996, Vinson became Peletier's first Mayor after working to incorporate the town. He was instrumental in forming the Inter Local Agency (ILA) to unite Western Fire and EMS services. He currently serves as a Town Commissioner.
