Ameshia Chester

Ameshia Cooper Chester was born and raised in Durham, North Carolina, and attended Durham Public Schools. She received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2010 and a Juris Doctor from Charlotte School of Law in 2013. Her legal career includes serving as a Felony Prosecutor in the Durham County District Attorney's Office. She is currently a Special Deputy Attorney General with the North Carolina Department of Justice, where she prosecutes violations of state tax law and represents the State in criminal appellate cases. Previously, she was an Assistant Attorney General, representing the NC Sheriffs' Education and Training Standards Commission and the NC Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission.
