Anamarie Avila Farias is a Democratic member of the California State Assembly representing District 15, having assumed office in December 2024. Prior to her election to the state legislature, she served on the Contra Costa County Board of Education and the Martinez City Council, where she was the first Latina elected to the body. She also served on the California Housing Finance Agency Board of Directors. She holds a master's degree from the University of San Francisco.
