Andrew Friedson is a Democratic candidate for Montgomery County Executive. He is currently serving his second term on the Montgomery County Council representing District 1, which includes Bethesda, Chevy Chase, and Potomac. First elected in 2018, he became the youngest councilmember in county history. He was later elected as the youngest-ever Council President in December 2023. As a councilmember, Friedson chairs the Planning, Housing, & Parks Committee and serves on the Health and Human Services Committee. His legislative work has concentrated on economic development, housing, and environmental issues. He was re-elected to his council seat in 2022, running unopposed in both the primary and general elections.
