Anthony Tyre is the incumbent Mayor Pro Tem and a City Councilman for Washington, NC. He is a U.S. Army veteran who was awarded a Bronze Star for his service in Afghanistan. After retiring from the military, he earned two master's degrees from North Carolina Central University and started a Ph.D. program at East Carolina University. He is the owner of Clear Point Family Services, a mental health and substance misuse treatment clinic, and is involved in community revitalization projects in Aurora.
