Ashfaq G. Chowdhury

Ashfaq 'Ron' G. Chowdhury was appointed as a judge to the Los Angeles County Superior Court by Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr. in February 2018. He earned a Juris Doctor degree from Columbia Law School and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Williams College. His legal career before his appointment includes serving as a deputy federal public defender from 2010 to 2018. He also worked as an associate at several law firms: Cole Pedroza LLP (2008-2010), Munger, Tolles and Olson LLP (2005-2008), and Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton and Garrison LLP (2003-2005). Additionally, he served as a law clerk for Judge Frederic Block at the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of New York, and for Judge Richard N. Palmer at the Connecticut Supreme Court.
