Barbara A. Mallett

Barbara A. Mallett is a native of Morganton, North Carolina, and has resided in East Spencer since 1976. She earned an associate degree in accounting from Rowan-Cabarrus Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Shaw University. Her public service career includes working as the Town Clerk and Finance Officer for East Spencer from 1980 to 2000 and serving on the Board of Aldermen from 2005 to 2009. She was first elected mayor in 2011 and has been re-elected for multiple subsequent terms. Mallett is also active in the community, serving on various boards, including the Novant Health Rowan Medical Center Board of Directors and the Salisbury Transportation Advisory Board.
