Brian Helms is a lifelong resident of Union County and a graduate of Piedmont High School. He was elected to the Union County Board of Commissioners in November 2022 and was elected Chairman in December 2025. Helms has been employed by a local manufacturing company for over 25 years, where he has a strong background in project management and manages a training program. He attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and holds Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Professional in Training Management (CPTM), and Corporate Trainer Certified (CTC) credentials.
