Bryan "Tate" Mayo is the incumbent mayor of Tarboro, North Carolina, having won the election on May 17, 2022. Prior to serving as mayor, he was elected to the town council. He is a native of Tarboro and returned to his hometown in 2018 after working in Raleigh. He is associated with his family's long-standing textile business, Mayo Knitting Mill, which was started by his great-grandfather in 1932. He has also been involved in his family's farm. Mayo is also running for Edgecombe County Commissioner for District 2 in the November 5, 2024 election.
