Bryson R. Meyers is the Sheriff of Garrett County, Maryland, a position he was elected to in the 2022 general election as a Republican. His law enforcement career began in 2007 when he joined the Garrett County Sheriff's Office. A native of Oakland, Maryland, Sheriff Meyers is a graduate of Southern Garrett High School and holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Marshall University. Over his more than sixteen years of service, he has taken on progressively responsible roles. His diverse experience includes serving as a K9 handler, a detective assigned to the Narcotics Task Force, and the supervisor for both the Sex Offender Registry and the School Resource Officer programs. Before being elected Sheriff, he was promoted to the rank of Chief Deputy, the second-in-command of the department.
