Byron E. Macfarlane

Byron E. Macfarlane serves as the Democratic Register of Wills for Howard County, Maryland, an office to which he was first elected in 2010. A native of the county, he is a graduate of its public school system. Macfarlane continued his education by earning a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Maryland, College Park, followed by a Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law. He was officially admitted to the Maryland Bar in 2009. Prior to his current role, his career in public service included working for local and state government officials and serving as a legislative director. He also held a position on the Howard County Democratic Central Committee from 2006 to 2010.
