Carla Franklin was born and raised in Greensboro. She earned a bachelor's degree from Duke University in 1999 and a graduate degree from Columbia University in 2008. Her career experience includes working as a programmer and management consultant. After living in New York for 12 years, she moved back to Greensboro and started her own business promoting school choice. She has been affiliated with the Junior League of Greensboro, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and Jack and Jill of America. This is her first time running for public office.
