Carrie Buck is a Republican state senator representing Nevada Senate District 5 (since 2020) and the Republican nominee for Nevada's 1st Congressional District in 2026. Born in Sioux City, Iowa, she was raised on a small farm. She began her career teaching fifth grade in North Las Vegas and later served as a principal, turning one of Nevada's lowest-performing schools into one of its best and earning the Milken Educator Award. She led the growth of the Pinecrest Academy charter school and serves as president of the Pinecrest Foundation. She holds a bachelor's from Montana State University (1995), a master's from the University of Phoenix (1998), and a Ph.D. from Nova Southeastern University (2006). She and her husband Eric, a retired deputy police chief, have four sons.
