Chenita Johnson

Chenita Barber Johnson is a graduate of Winston-Salem State University with a degree in political science/public administration and has a paralegal certificate. She is a co-founder of the Coalition for Equity in Public Education, an organization focused on promoting equity and anti-racist policies within the school system. Johnson has been actively involved in the community, serving as a PTA parent liaison and on boards dealing with poverty, education, and housing. She was nominated in December 2020 to fill a vacant seat on the Board of Education for District 1.
