Christopher "Chris" Carney is the current mayor of Mooresville. He served in the U.S. Navy Seabees from 1991 to 1999. His political career includes serving as the Ward 4 Commissioner on Mooresville's town board from 2005 to 2011, where he was selected as Mayor Pro-Tem in 2009. He also served in the North Carolina Senate from 2011 to 2013. Carney owns a business called Strategic Capital Solutions. He and his wife, Francie, have three children.
