Civil Miller-Watkins

Civil Miller-Watkins is a Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate representing Tennessee in the August 6, 2026 primary election. An educator, she worked as a middle school teacher and served as vice-chair of the Board of Education for Fayette County Public Schools. Miller-Watkins earned a Bachelor of Science in sociology (1992), social work (1994), and a Master's degree in education (2023) from the University of Tennessee at Martin. Her political background includes runs for Tennessee State Senate and serving as secretary of the Tennessee Democratic County Chairs Association. She is married with eight children and ten grandchildren.
