Cristóbal Palmer was elected to the Carrboro Town Council in a special election in November 2024 to fill a vacant seat and is now running for a full term. He grew up in Carrboro, attended Carrboro Elementary School, and is now raising his two children in the town. Palmer holds a Master of Information Science from UNC-Chapel Hill and works as the Technical Director for ibiblio, a digital library at the university. Before joining the council, he volunteered for local nonprofits and served on the board of the Carrboro Bicycle Coalition. His mother, Maria Palmer, previously served on the Chapel Hill Town Council.
