Curtis 'Curt' Strickland is a lifelong resident of Roanoke Rapids. He was appointed to the City Council on October 3, 2023, to fill a vacant District 1 seat and was sworn in on October 17, 2023. He has been the General Manager at Builders FirstSource in Roanoke Rapids for 44 years. Strickland has been a member of the Roanoke Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Lake Gaston Chamber of Commerce, and the North Carolina Home Builders Association for many years. In July 2025, he confirmed his intention to file to retain his seat in the upcoming election.
