Dan Miller was raised on the Iron Range in Hibbing, Minnesota. He has served on the Capital Long Range Improvement Committee (CLIC) for Ward 1, the MPRB East of the River Master Plan advisory committee, and as a board member of Windom Park Citizens in Action (WPCiA). He has also been the chair of the Great Northern Greenway committee, advocating for the expansion of the city's bikeway network.
